ORGANIZATION: Compassionate Care Hospice (Amedisys) Bloomfield NJ

Do you have a few spare hours a month? In your spare time you can make a major difference to our end-of-life patients on hospice care. We have remote and in-person roles. A few minutes writing a penpal letter, sending a birthday card or calling to check if they need anything before the weekend are all ways you can help from your home whenever you have the time.

An in person companion visits where you sit with the patient and talk, read aloud, listen to music, maybe draw or color is just as rewarding to the volunteer as it is for the patient, family and care team.

Every connection with a volunteer brings sunshine into long days. One hour at a time the volnteer changes things for the better. We will tran you and supply you with whatever you need. There is an application and an onboarding process which includes a background check .Some health requirements for in person non-medical roles.

If you are interested in hospice volunteering just respond to this ad and I will happliy explain everything and get you started. My name is Kris and I am the regional volunteer coordinator for Compassionate Care Hospice.

Description

For patients on hospice care, volunteers play an essential role. Whether they’re simply being present with a patient or helping behind the scenes, volunteers help create trusting bonds and meaningful memories for hospice patients and their loved ones.
