Help Students Start the School Year Strong - Earn Volunteer Hours While Making a Difference!

Positive academic experiences play a vital role in building the confidence and potential of children in our community. You can help lay the foundation for student success by assembling much-needed school supply kits. Your donation provides children with the essential tools they need to thrive in the classroom.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  1. Gather Supplies
Purchase items from our materials list or organize a supply drive through your school, workplace, or organization. All supplies must be new. Once collected, assemble kits and label them by grade level. Kits can be packed in backpacks or large storage bags.
  2. Earn Community Service Hours
    • Each completed kit (with a minimum of 5 different items) or item purchased from our Amazon wish list earns 2 volunteer hours.
    • There is no limit to the number of hours you can receive.
    • This is a perfect opportunity for students, busy adults, or anyone needing volunteer hours-there’s no age requirement!
  3. Steps to Receive Volunteer Credit:
    • Step 1: Create a volunteer profile at chsfl.volunteerhub.com
    • Step 2: Register under "Back to School Supply Resource Kits."
    • Step 3: Sign up for events based on the hours you need (e.g., sign up for 4 events if you need 20 hours-each event equals 5 hours).
    • Step 4: Be sure each kit includes at least 5 different items, or shop directly from our Amazon Wish List.
    • Step 5: Drop off completed kits to the location nearest you, or mail them to:
      Children’s Home Society of Florida
      3335 Forest Hill Blvd
      West Palm Beach, FL 33406
      Attn: Julie Young

(Amazon orders will ship directly to our facility.)

    • Step 6: Record your donation here: https://chsfl.org/chsgifts/
  1. Get Your Hours Verified
To receive your volunteer verification letter, simply email proof of your Amazon order or shipping receipt to:
    julie.young@chsfl.org

Mission Statement

Building bridges to success for children.

Description

Our vision:

A world where children realize their full potential.

Our mission:

Building bridges to success for children.

Our common bond:

Caring - Integrity - Respect - Commitment - Leadership - Excellence

CHS leads the way in developing and delivering solutions that drastically change life trajectories for children and families.

We’re different because we invest in lasting solutions, not short-term fixes. We empower children and families to cross bridges that lead to success.

At CHS, we are reimagining the future of foster care. We’re creating a world where children are safer - where they don’t enter foster care in the first place. We’re addressing the root causes that lead to dangerous situations ... and we’re implementing one-of-a-kind solutions that will change the future for children, families and communities.

Together, We do good.
