SUMMARY:
As a Technology Product Manager at Save the Water™, you will lead the development and management of technology products aimed at advancing our mission of conserving and protecting freshwater resources worldwide. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for technological innovation, prioritize initiatives, and drive the development of impactful solutions. This role requires a passion for environmental conservation, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of technology and its application in the non-profit sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Product Strategy: Develop and execute a technology product strategy aligned with Save the Water™'s mission and objectives, focusing on initiatives that address pressing water conservation challenges.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including program managers, scientists, volunteers, and external partners, to gather insights and define product requirements based on community needs and organizational goals.
- Product Development: Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept ideation and requirements gathering to design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Technology Selection: Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies and platforms to support the organization's initiatives, considering factors such as scalability, accessibility, and cost-effectiveness.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with technology teams, including developers, designers, data scientists, and IT professionals, to translate requirements into technical specifications and ensure successful product delivery.
- Agile Project Management: Implement agile methodologies to manage product development processes, including sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and iteration reviews, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.
- Impact Measurement: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of technology products on water conservation efforts, regularly reporting progress to internal and external stakeholders.
- Community Engagement: Engage with the Save the Water™ community, including volunteers, donors, and beneficiaries, to solicit feedback, foster collaboration, and promote awareness of technology initiatives.
- Partnerships and Grants: Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and funding opportunities, collaborating with the development team to secure grants and sponsorships to support technology projects.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including data privacy laws and cybersecurity best practices, to safeguard sensitive information and maintain trust with stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree or certification in environmental management or non-profit leadership preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with a focus on technology products and solutions.
- Passion for environmental conservation and a commitment to Save the Water™'s mission and values.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and mobilize teams around a shared vision.
- Experience working in the non-profit sector, preferably in the environmental or water conservation space, with a proven track record of driving positive social impact through technology.
- Proficiency in agile methodologies and project management tools, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical expertise in software development, database management, and/or digital analytics, with the ability to understand and articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships, secure funding, and navigate complex stakeholder relationships.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to foster a culture of belonging and collaboration within the organization.
