What is the MAU Mentorship program and am I the right fit?

  • Supporting entrepreneurs, investors and/or youth from the African diaspora with regular one-on-one mentoring and technical assistance

  • Contribute at least 4-6 hrs per month per client to meet in-person or Zoom. You may schedule meetings with your client in a way that fits both of your schedules. We welcome an ongoing relationship after that!

  • Leverage your expertise in your field to provide both mentoring and technical assistance during your meetings. All fields and expertise welcome, we will aim to match you with the right client who is looking for support in your area.

  • Anyone can become an MAU volunteer if you have work, business experience or expertise and are willing to share your knowledge, whether you’re a retired individual, business owner, or working professional.

Minnesota Africans United (MAU) is serving as the coalition of African immigrants in Minnesota that is centered on closing the opportunity gaps in agriculture, business development, education, employment, healthcare, housing, investment, and trade with the mission of creating awareness and increasing access to resources for African communities.

Description

Minnesota Africans United (MAU) is a coalition and statewide organization for all African immigrant communities in Minnesota. MAU supports Minnesota’s African Immigrant community with representation from 55 African countries. We act as a connection for the network of African immigrants in Minnesota and for local African immigrant community organizations, and small businesses.

Vision: The vision of Minnesota Africans United (MAU) is to improve the quality of lives of Africans in the State of Minnesota.
