Sound Designer
ORGANIZATION: STARBIRD THEATRE
Please visit the new page to apply.

Are you interested in sound design or live theater? Want to build experience while contributing creatively? Starbird Theater is looking for a volunteer Sound Designer to help bring our stage plays to life through audio!
As a Sound Designer, you’ll work with the director to review the script, create a sound design plan, and collaborate with our team to prepare cues and effects. We ask that you:
Attend at least 4 rehearsals to understand the pacing, tone, and transitions
Be available for one tech rehearsal and one dress rehearsal, usually after 5 PM or during the day on a Saturday.
Each production runs for about 6 to 8 weeks, depending on how sound-heavy the show is. We produce three mainstage plays per year, and you can join us for one show-or stay involved year-round.
Some experience with theater or sound design is helpful, but we’re happy to train motivated folks who want to learn. Do you have experience with sound editing, mixing, or operating a board? Are you available on evenings or weekends? Do you have access to sound equipment or software? If you answered yes to any of these-or just have a strong interest in learning-we’d love to hear from you!
