Board of Directors - Go Dharmic

Location: Remote, USA

Commitment: Part-time, voluntary (2-5 hours per month)

Term: Three years (renewable)

Lead a Movement of Compassionate Action

Go Dharmic is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization, rooted in dharmic principles of compassion, service, and non-violence. With the guiding message Love All. Feed All. Serve All., we are dedicated to alleviating food poverty, supporting underserved communities through disaster relief, providing education opportunities to children in rural communities, and environmental initiatives. We’ve distributed over 25 million meals globally and continue to mobilize thousands of volunteers in service to humanity.

We are seeking committed and passionate individuals with a heart for service. You will be aligned with our mission and eager to help guide our strategic vision and deepen our impact.

Responsibilities

As a board member, you will work collaboratively with fellow directors and the executive team to:

Governance & Oversight

  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight of the organization’s mission, goals, and policies.

  • Ensure the organization complies with legal and ethical standards.

  • Review and approve budgets, major policies, and programmatic initiatives.

Fundraising & Advocacy

  • Actively support fundraising efforts through personal contributions and network outreach.

  • Promote the organization’s work to the public and act as an ambassador in the community.

Board Engagement

  • Attend regular board meetings (typically one/month).

  • Participate in at least one board committee or special project.

  • Stay informed about the organization’s programs and developments.

Financial Stewardship

  • Help monitor financial performance.

Qualifications:

  • A strong personal connection to our mission of love, compassion, and nonviolence.
  • Integrity, independent judgment, and a collaborative mindset
  • Willingness to contribute time, resources, and expertise

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Background in humanitarian work, poverty alleviation, education, or environmental sustainability.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: nonprofit leadership, fundraising, finance, law, marketing, community outreach, or program development
  • Knowledge of charity financial oversight and regulatory compliance.
