The Observatory seeks dedicated Volunteer Digital Marketing Specialists to join our team and play a crucial role in identifying and executing strategies to expand the presence of our original content.
Position Summary:
As a Volunteer Digital Marketing Specialist, you will play a key role in expanding the Observatory’s reach, engagement, and impact across digital platforms. You’ll help develop and execute digital marketing strategies that drive awareness, grow our audience, and promote our knowledge-driven initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement digital campaigns to increase awareness, readership, and engagement
Manage and grow the Observatory’s presence on social media platforms
Collaborate with editors and subject experts to promote newly published content
Analyze performance data to refine outreach strategies
Assist with SEO and content marketing efforts to boost visibility
Support email marketing initiatives and newsletter campaigns
Qualifications:
Experience in digital marketing, social media strategy, or content promotion
Strong communication skills and the ability to distill complex ideas into compelling messaging
Passion for public education, knowledge-sharing, and global issues
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Commitment to the Observatory’s mission and values
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Canva, Hootsuite, or similar
Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) or online publishing platforms
Specific interest in or knowledge of one or more academic subjects
