Join us on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Intrepid Museum for the Lupus Research Alliance’s NYC Walk. Festivities begin at 8:00 AM, and the Walk starts at 9:30 AM.
We’re looking for friendly, energetic volunteers to help with:
- Set-up (including the day before)
- Registration, refreshments, and clean-up
- Cheering on walkers and flyering locally
We also welcome balloon artists, face painters, photographers, and massage therapists to donate their time and talents. If you would like to donate your services contact me to get involved.

The mission of the Lupus Research Alliance (LRA) is to find better treatments and ultimately prevent and cure systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE or lupus), a debilitating autoimmune disease, by supporting medical research.
Description
The Lupus Research Alliance (LRA) is a national voluntary health organization based in New York City that was founded in 1999 and is chaired by Robert Wood Johnson IV, a member of the founding family of Johnson & Johnson. By committing millions of dollars to significant lupus research every year and holding nationwide lupus walks to secure additional funding, the ALR is proactively battling lupus.

REQUIREMENTS
- This is a Done in a Day opportunity and there is no prior training or ongoing commitment needed.
- Must be at least 13
- 3-4 Hours
- We are looking for hands on volunteers, not scared on jumping in and supporting different activities during the day, and that are able to move boxes and move around. Light duty jobs available upon request.
