Silver Lining Mentoring

Life after foster care can feel overwhelming, so Silver Lining Mentoring (SLM) created the e-Mentoring program for young adults (18-26) with foster care experience across Massachusetts and beyond. This virtual program offers flexible, goal-focused mentorships through chat and video, supporting mentees in building life skills, accessing resources, and feeling connected.

Mentors commit to about 4 hours per month of virtual connections for 1 year, with training and support from SLM staff. Mentors serve as a reliable, caring addition to mentee's support networks. As a mentor, you will get connected with an amazing young adult who you will have the opportunity to help navigate adulthood and all its joys and challenges.

Does this sound like just the right fit for you? If so, follow this link http://bit.ly/e-Mentoring-Mentors to learn more and apply today! Our team is always happy to speak with you directly and answer any questions you may have about or program and volunteer application process. If you are interested in connecting with us about this opportunity, please contact our e-Mentoring Program Manager at amy@silverliningmentoring.org.

Mission Statement

Silver Lining Mentoring empowers foster and adopted youth to flourish through committed mentoring relationships.

Description

Silver Lining Mentoring is the only mentoring organization in Massachusetts that exclusively serves youth in foster care. Founded in 2001, Silver Lining empowers foster youth in Greater Boston to flourish through committed mentoring relationships and the development of essential life skills. We provide long term one-to-one mentoring and life skills development for young people who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Our volunteer mentors are often the only adults in our youth’s lives who are not paid to spend time with them.
