ORGANIZATION: Composing Youth Mobility

  • Spots available: 0

Composing Youth Mobility is building a youth-led, culturally-rooted movement where youth are discovered as survivors (ages 15-29) and transformed to be the industry designers, innovators, and entrepreneurs of a new national transportation experience. We're challenging the traditional approaches to engaging youth in traffic safety, and reimagining the powerful oppourtunities to harness youth creative leadership and energy.

We're seeking a creative, organized, and enthusiastic volunteer to support our growing communications and partnership efforts. As Administrative Support for Partnership & Communications, you'll help us build meaningful relationships with partners and funders while amplifying youth-led impact stories .

Why do we need a volunteer? Voluteers give us the [outside the box] quick and easy thinking we need during this moment of an evolving social impact sector. No one likes to not be valued for their contribution so we'll make sure you feel and receive that valued recognition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting, formatting, and proofreading 5-10 professional emails to a range of stakeholders-from local businesses to Fortune 500+ companies weekly.
  • Help schedule social impact-driven social media posts, highlighting how youth are addressing real-world transportation challenges and shaping safer transportation futures .

Contribute creative ideas to enhance our communications and storytelling strategies, emphasizing the "creative ecosystem methodology" used to compose new solutions .

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • You value youth leadership and the importance of centering youth lived experiences, creativity, and innovation
  • If given 2 tasks per week, you can work independently without daily check-ins, meeting deadlines
  • You aren't afraid to ask questions, and follow-up if necesary.
  • Excellent written communication isn't required, but you willingly ask for support or find the tools to get the job done!
  • Experience in nonprofits, youth development, marketing and communications or fundraising is always a plus, but whatever your experience is a plus too!

We're all about - let work/volunteering/living work for you.

Mission Statement

The mission of Composing Mobility is to build a youth-led, culturally-rooted movement where transportation-related youth survivors (ages 15-29) are empowered as industry designers, innovators, and entrepreneurs to reimagine transportation safety. Description

Composing Mobility, formerly known as National Organizations for Youth Safety, has a rich history of advocating for youth safety and empowerment. Over the years, we have evolved to address the broader issues of transportation equity and mobility justice. Our rebranding to Composing Mobility reflects our expanded focus and renewed commitment to empowering youth as leaders and innovators in the transportation sector.

Our primary goal is to build a youth-led, culturally-rooted movement where transportation-related youth survivors (ages 15-29) are empowered as industry designers, innovators, and entrepreneurs. We aim to:

Reimagine Transportation Safety: Equip youth with the skills and knowledge to address real-world transportation challenges.

Promote Equity: Advocate for equitable transportation solutions that serve all community members, especially those who are underserved.

Foster Leadership: Develop a new generation of leaders who can drive change in the transportation industry and beyond.

We have successfully empowered numerous youth to take on leadership roles in their communities, addressing transportation safety and equity issues. Our programs have led to the development of innovative solutions and policies that have positively impacted youth leadership and their transportation experiences.
