Mission Statement
Education Over Debt Foundation mission is to provide scholarships to African American high school students in North Carolina attending a four-year College or University and Non-African American students of color, attending a two-year or four-year College or University. The Foundation delivers value to the community by emphasizing training on personal development, financial literacy, and wellness, while mentoring students during their college journey.
Description
Founded in 2020, The Education Over Debt Foundation mission encompasses preparing high school students and their families with the necessary knowledge and skills to make better informed decisions about money management and wealth accumulation techniques. African American and non-African American students of color typically lack resources around financial education and adequate college planning and preparation. As such, by offering financial educational programs, workshops, and resources, we strive to empower students and their families to navigate the complexities of college finances, understand the impact of debt, utilize simple techniques to accumulate wealth while incorporating wellness, and build a foundation for future financial success. As of 2024, The Foundation has provided $10,000 in scholarships to 9 students.
