Volunteer Opportunity: Video Storyteller
You know how to shape a story-not just cut clips. You feel the rhythm in a moment, the emotion in a pause. We’re looking for a Video Storyteller to help us turn raw footage into short films that capture transformation, dignity, and hope. These aren’t just edits-they’re stories that change hearts, open wallets, and show what second chances can look like. If you can see the story inside the chaos and bring it to life with music, pacing, and emotional truth-we need you.
Responsibilities:
* Review and organize raw footage from interviews, events, and day-to-day life at our reentry home
* Edit short-form videos (1-3 minutes) that capture transformation, hope, and impact
* Select music, add basic graphics or subtitles, and polish final videos for digital use
* Collaborate with our team to develop story arcs that align with our mission and messaging
* Deliver content optimized for social media, our website, and donor communications
Requirements:
* Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar)
* If you don’t currently have access to editing software, we’re open to providing it for the right volunteer
* Strong narrative instincts and ability to create emotionally resonant edits
* Comfortable working independently with clear guidance and feedback
* Reliable and organized, with the ability to manage digital files and meet informal deadlines
* A passion for our mission and a desire to use storytelling to make a difference
This volunteer opportunity offers flexible hours, remote collaboration, and the chance to build your portfolio while contributing to a powerful cause. Join us in telling stories that matter-and help bring transformation to life.

Mission Statement
My Father's House is a prison reentry nonprofit that provides transitional housing, job placement assistance, life-skills training, and a supportive community to men on so they can lead whole and productive lives.
Description
Organizational Background
My Father’s House was founded by Jim Blum in December 2017. Jim spent many years incarcerated in the Colorado Department of Corrections, during which time he developed a desire to help others through ministry. Having made a successful transition on parole with the support of family and friends, he understands first-hand the challenges men face as they move forward with their lives. He founded MFH to provide the same kind of support he received to others in less fortunate circumstances.
Goals
My Father's House is a nonprofit transitional housing community for men on parole; seeking to offer them safe, decent, affordable housing and a community of support. We believe these services are vital, because we know that stability factors such as secure shelter and a sense of belonging are basic, but major contributors to a person's sense of well-being and ability to function at a higher cognitive level in order to acquire new skill sets and positive, healthy ways of thinking.
