The Autism Moves program is seeking volunteers to join us each week at our various programs. We currently offer a multisport program, track program and water paddle program throughout the week. Our programs run on evenings and weekends throughout the summer and fall.

Volunteers will be paired with an athlete with autism from our program and support them through various games and activities set up by our coach and staff. Volunteers are there to provide help, encouragement and create a positive environment for athletes to learn and develop their skills. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment where our athletes can be themselves and learn skills at their own level. Volunteers do not have to be athletic to support our programs, we are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate and caring individuals.

Our staff are on-site to support volunteer and athlete pairings and ensure everyone is having fun.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to ensure all children and youth in our community have the opportunity to play, learn and develop through sports.

Description

The OSEG Foundation will be a catalyst for social change by leveraging the power of sport to improve the lives of children and youth. By developing strategic partnerships and investing in programs and initiatives that deliver on our mission, we continue to break barriers and create opportunities so all kids in our community have the opportunity to play, learn, and develop through sports.

We offer a variety of programs for youth on the autism spectrum through our Autism Moves program. Autism Moves is a youth empowerment program that promotes physical activity, fundamental movement skills, and peer connection for youth with autism through sport. With the support of trained program leaders and volunteers, youth will increase physical activity level and movement skills, increase mental health and well-being, and increase sense of belonging in sports.
