On July 11 th from 10am-1pm , our Union Turnpike Day Habilitation program is hosting its Annual Carnival for the individuals we serve. We are looking for volunteers to serve food, assist with games, and help set-up and clean-up. Join us for a fun day outside while making a difference!

Mission Statement

Heartshare champions and empowers New York City’s most overlooked and underestimated by promoting health and well-being, creating stability, and unlocking futures.

Description

HeartShare supports two specific populations across all of New York City: children and adults with developmental disabilities, and children and families dealing with the trauma associated with family separation. Each population faces its own distinct set of challenges and obstacles, and we are set up accordingly to meet them with understanding, evidence-based solutions, and interconnected programming.

While the actual work of each focus area varies, Heartshare as a whole is driven by a few guiding principles. These ideas form the foundation of all work, from how we judge our success to how we set ambitious plans for the future.

We amplify access and voice. We fight for those who society overlooks and underestimates-providing access, listening, and speaking up.

We adapt to meet unmet needs. We go where the problems are and fill the gaps. Always building, adapting, and improving.

We build pathways forward. We help remove barriers and open up opportunities so that those we support can both own and create their own futures.
