Role Summary:
Help create a peaceful, welcoming environment for our residents and families by caring for the outdoor spaces that surround Mitchell House. As a Grounds & Garden Caregiver, you’ll provide hands-on support maintaining flower beds, trimming bushes, pulling weeds, planting seasonal flowers, and keeping walkways tidy.
Your care for our grounds is more than just landscaping - it’s a way to show love, dignity, and peace to those in the final stage of life.
Tasks May Include:Watering flowers or planters
Pulling weeds, trimming shrubs, light raking
Cleaning or sweeping walkways and patios
Planting seasonal flowers or greenery
Removing debris after storms
(Optional) Assisting with small landscaping projects

Our team works alongside amazing hospice partners-St. Croix Hospice, Care Initiatives Hospice, and Hospice of the Midwest-to make sure each person here gets thoughtful, individualized care. But what really makes Mitchell House special is the heart of our community: our volunteers.
Whether it’s sitting with a resident, baking cookies, working in the garden, greeting families, or helping with events, volunteers play a huge role in making this place feel like home. You don’t need medical experience-just compassion, kindness, and a little time to share.
