Volunteer Team Coordinator / Executive Assistant to President (Remote & Flexible)

Priority for candidates in Washington, DC and nearby areas (in-person help needed time to time).

Want to work side-by-side with the founder of a new national sports movement?
We’re building the first Nordic Walking Association in the US and are looking for a reliable, proactive, and self-driven person to become the President’s right hand and the key coordinator for our team.

What you’ll do:

  • Coordinate the work of volunteers and serve as the main link between all directions and the President

  • Organize the President’s calendar and priorities, remind about meetings and deadlines

  • Delegate tasks and track their completion

  • Take routine off the President’s plate: organize meetings, manage mailings, prepare reports, coordinate workflow, handle correspondence with partners

  • Participate in decision-making and quickly jump into new tasks

  • Communicate with everyone - from volunteers and participants to partners and sponsors

What’s important:

  • You keep everything under control and don’t get lost in chaos

  • You know how to explain tasks clearly and work with people

  • You are not afraid of responsibility and can make decisions quickly

  • You are eager to learn new things and want to see real results

  • Fluent English is required; Russian is a plus

  • Confident with Google Calendar, email, and basic documents

Special note:

  • The President is originally from Latvia and is now based in the US

  • At first, you’ll need patience: he has difficulty understanding spoken English and often finds it hard to explain ideas in English

  • You’ll need to ask clarifying questions, help with correspondence, dive into tasks, and gradually adapt to our communication style

  • This is a unique chance to quickly become a key person and make a real impact

  • This is an in-person/hybrid role based in Washington, DC. Some tasks require offline presence

What you get:

  • Direct influence on a movement that soon everyone in America will know about

  • Real responsibility, leadership, and organizational skills

  • Work directly with the President - an athlete who continues to train and compete, not just "sit in an office"

  • Flexible schedule, can be combined with study or another job

  • Opportunity to learn Nordic Walking and - if desired and with proven potential - an open path to the national team

  • Honest atmosphere where your results and ideas are seen and valued

  • Fast growth and involvement in key decisions

Why this matters and might suit you:

  • You’ll be a central figure, not just an "office assistant"

  • Here you influence strategy, discuss everything directly, and see your impact

  • Everything is straightforward and human - no bureaucracy, maximum result

  • Any success is your success, and if you want to grow, nothing will stop you

Additionally:
As the organization grows and the budget appears, this position will become paid. The most reliable and effective volunteers will be the first to join NWANA as staff.

If you want to be in the center of everything, not just "on the sidelines," apply now - we’re waiting for your message!
