Gesher Peace Initiative is looking for passionate, dedicated and reliable volunteers interested in being part of an international effort to make real change in the lives of sexual violence survivors.
The purpose of this position is to support/encourage survivors every week. For this role, we are seeking individuals with experience in social work and/or therapy, and trauma-informed practices. Ideally, this candidate will have a passion for trauma-informed coaching, and empowering and encouraging those they serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management
- Create and develop a trusted, respectful, and safe atmosphere for each survivor.
- Set realistic, achievable, and survivor-led goals for each survivor
- Offer consistent emotional encouragement through trauma-informed approaches.
- Track and report each survivor's weekly progress
Group Facilitation
- Leading small group support sessions with compassion and respect
- Moderating active group chats, ensuring they remain safe, respectful, and supportive environments.
Qualifications
- A strong interest in therapy, and social work
- Demonstratable experience in social work, case management, counselling, or related fields
- Strong interpersonal skills including empathy, friendliness, compassion, care, active listening, nonjudgemental, and culturally sensitive.
- Arabic language skills are considered an asset.
- Experience working with displaced or vulnerable populations is an asset.
