Help prevent children from losing their literacy skills over the summer by becoming a Volunteer Summer Reading Buddy. Summer Reading Buddies are provided with books and worksheets to work one-on-one or in small groups with children in first through fifth grade. This short-term, focused initiative offers an opportunity to make a difference in a child's reading journey during the summer months.

Summer Reading Buddies can choose their level of commitment-from a few hours to once a week to the full program. This is an in-person project that will run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12-2:30 p.m. from July 1 to August 6.

This opportunity requires volunteers to register on a separate website:

2. Use link below to complete your registration with Family Service Society of Yonkers. Volunteers who do not complete this step will not be registered!
