Volunteer Position: Greens & Grains Kitchen Support - Summer Lunch Program
Location: The Denver Inner City Parish (1212 Marisposa St.)
Schedule: Weekdays, flexible shifts between 9am-3pm Monday-Thursday. June- Mid August
Commitment: 2 (3hr) shifts a week.
Overview:
Join our Greens & Grains Kitchen Team and help nourish our community this summer! We’re looking for reliable and enthusiastic volunteers to support our Summer Lunch Program, which provides fresh, healthy meals to youth and families in our neighborhood.
Duties Include:
Assisting with food prep (washing, chopping, assembling ingredients)
Helping portion and plate meals for distribution
Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
Supporting kitchen staff with daily tasks as needed
Following basic food safety and hygiene practices
You’d be a great fit if you:
Enjoy working in a kitchen setting
Are organized, dependable, and team-oriented
Can stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs
Are excited to support food justice and community nutrition
No kitchen experience is necessary-we’ll train you! This is a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet awesome people, and make a direct impact during the summer months.

Hunger Relief - meeting clients’ basic needs and reducing food insecurity.
Health and Wellness - increasing access to and consumption of healthy foods, access to nutrition and resource education, and increasing access to active lifestyle options by participants.
Community Support - providing services and resource and benefit navigation support for people of all ages.
