Mission Statement
Food Stand in a Park was born from a school project in 2020, inspired by the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Our simple yet impactful idea was to set up food stands where community members could donate food, which we would then deliver to local soup kitchens. After successfully donating a truckload of food to Loaves and Fishes, we saw the significance of our efforts for those in need. Motivated by the impact we made, we transformed our project into a nonprofit with a clear mission: to help end hunger, one food stand at a time. We believe that even as students, we can make a meaningful difference in the world by combating hunger and fostering a spirit of giving in our communities.
Description
Food Stand in a Park is a student-led nonprofit committed to fighting food insecurity in our local communities. We collect donated food from neighbors, schools, and community partners, then deliver it directly to local soup kitchens and shelters. What began as a school project has grown into a movement driven by compassion, youth leadership, and a belief that everyone deserves access to a meal. We serve with purpose, act with integrity, and strive to create a culture of giving-one food stand at a time.
