Location: Mississauga / Hybrid / Remote Start Date: Saturday June 7, 2025 Hours: Flexible (8-12 hours per week, Weekends may vary based on workshops) Compensation: Volunteer / Co-op Credit / Stipend Position Overview We’re seeking a Teaching Assistant with strong Python programming skills to support instructors during coding classes and workshops. This is an ideal role for college/university students, recent graduates, or educators looking to gain experience in teaching, mentoring, or edtech. Key Responsibilities * Assist lead instructors during coding sessions (online or in person) * Provide one-on-one or small group support to students learning Python * Help prepare lesson materials, code samples, and assignments * Monitor student progress and answer coding-related questions * Troubleshoot simple bugs and help students debug their code * Encourage and motivate students to think creatively and solve problems * Attend team meetings or training sessions as needed Required Skills & Qualifications * Proficiency in Python (variables, loops, functions, lists, classes, etc.) * Clear communication and a passion for teaching or mentoring * Patience and the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms * Experience working with children or teens (preferred but not required) * Knowledge of platforms like Replit, Jupyter Notebook, or Scratch (a plus) What You’ll Gain * Hands-on teaching and leadership experience * Mentorship from experienced educators and industry professionals * Certificate of completion or reference letter * Opportunity to grow into a paid instructor role * Contribute to an impactful mission in youth education
