NAHAC, the National Association of Healthcare Advocacy, is seeking a Board President who is passionate about Professional Patient and Healthcare Advocacy. As a national, member-driven nonprofit, we support the work of professional patient advocates through education, collaboration, and leadership.
If you are a seasoned professional in healthcare, patient or health care advocacy, or nonprofit leadership, and ready to shape the future of this critical field, we invite you to lead our board beginning August 2025.
What You Will Do
- Lead and collaborate with a committed Board of Directors
- Guide strategic direction and governance of the organization
- Represent NAHAC publicly and within the professional patient advocacy community
- Support member engagement and organizational sustainability
- Work closely with committees: Marketing and Communications, Membership, Education, Operations, and Finance & Governance.
What We Are Looking for
- Experience in healthcare, patient or health care advocacy, or a related field
- Prior leadership experience (nonprofit board, organizational, or team leadership)
- Strong communication, facilitation, and consensus-building skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and ethical care
- Willingness to contribute 12-15 hours / month to NAHAC’s missions

Description
We Empower patient/health care advocates with rigorous standards for the practice of health care advocacy including the 2022 revised Code of Ethics for Patient and Health Care Advocates.
We Educatepatient and health care advocates as well as patients and their families with current information and resources to obtain the best quality of care and to ensure patient safety.
We Collaborate with consumers and advocacy groups to expand awareness of the profession of health care advocacy so that together, we are continuously improving patient care.
At NAHAC, our vision is to enhance the lives of every patient through the work of our members who belong to THE professional organization for health care advocacy.
