It's summer and young oaks are thirsty! Come to the Walnut Creek Shell Ridge Open Space to help give water to young volunteer oak seedlings to better ensure their survival. Volunteer to help with the YOUNG OAKS PROJECT on any or all of the following Saturday mornings, 9-11 am: June 14, 28; July 12, 26; Aug 9, 23; Sept 6, 20 Contact and sign up at volunteer@wcosf.org.
The Walnut Creek Open Space is over 3000 acres of Open Space set aside to preserve natural resources, protect wildlife habitat and corridors, and provide recreation opportunities. Be a part of its protection.

Mission Statement
The Walnut Creek Open Space Foundation works to preserve and enhance Walnut Creek's 2700 acres of open space and to educate area residents so that they can enjoy this wonderful resource.
Description
Our primary activity is doing habitat restoration in the Walnut Creek Open Space. We have ongoing projects at Bayberry Pond, Rock Oak, Indian Valley Pond, Deer Lake, and Fossil Hill. We do occasional work in other locations in the Open Space.
We also have a native plant nursery where we propagate many of the plants we use in our restoration projects.
When opportunities arise, we work to acquire additional open space lands.
