Make Welcome Home Kits for Newly Housed Families
ORGANIZATION: L.A. Works

Help your community by assembling Welcome Home kits for those transitioning out of homelessness alongside out Camp FAVE Kids!
Why: Each year, we assist thousands of individuals and families as they move into permanent housing. Many of them arrive with little more than the very basics. By volunteering to assemble Welcome Home Kits, you're helping to provide the essentials they need to start fresh, creating a sense of stability, comfort, and pride in their new home. This summer, we are partnering up with Camp FAVE to build 200 kits and reach this goal as an intergenerational team!
Who: The People Concern believes no one should have to live on the street or in a violent household. They work together to address the effects of homelessness, poverty, mental and physical illness, abuse and addiction. Their programs empower the most vulnerable to improve their quality of life - housed, healthy and safe - and become active participants in the community. 2,113 people were permanently housed last year. 92% of clients supported in permanent housing by The People Concern never experience homelessness again!
What to Expect:
Assemble Welcome Home Kits for our participants transitioning out of homelessness. All items and supplies will be provided--your role is to help organize and pack the kits to support participants as they settle into their new homes.
What's Required:
Wear comfortable clothing/shoes and closed-toed shoes
You'll be standing and moving around for most of the time
Bring a refillable waterbottle
