We are currently in need of adult volunteers, interested in mentoring at-risk youth (ages 12-17) in the Benton County community. Volunteer mentors are expected to spend a minimum of one hour a week mentoring a youth. During their weekly meetings, mentors and youth will engage in various activities, such as playing games, visiting local museums, working on projects, and learning life skills. The program is community-based, giving mentors and youth the opportunity to explore Northwest Arkansas. Mentors will be placed with youth based on similar interests and compatibility. Youth Bridge provides monthly meetings, trainings, and regular check-ins to ensure the mentorship is running smoothly. By spending just one hour a week with an at-risk youth, you can make a HUGE difference in his or her life.

Restrictions: Must be 21 or older, must pass background check, minimum of 6 months commitment

Description

Youth Bridge is northern Arkansas' leading provider of comprehensive care to troubled teens and their families. We offer outpatient therapy and counseling, residential substance abuse treatment, emergency shelters, academic and social support, a therapeutic group home for teens involved in the juvenile justice system, and school-based services in collaboration with area school districts.

Each year, Youth Bridge serves mere than 4,000 teens and their families from a nine-county area. We encourage volunteers from clerical work to assistance with fundraising and event planning.
