Pound Puppy Rescue (www.poundpuppyrescue.org) is a non-profit puppy rescue in the SF Bay Area that has been rescuing at risk puppies and dogs from high-kill shelters across the state of California since 2001. The current state of affairs with shelters overflowing, spay and neuter costs rising and the rate of adoptions declining is utterly heartbreaking.
The cost of one puppy to flow through our foster care system is upwards of $800. We have recently had to reduce our adoption fee to much less than that ($375), just to attract qualified adopters. This is not sustainable. Our operations rely on our adoption fees to keep going, and running at such a deficit will be the end of our long-standing rescue in short order.
We are hoping to tap into some of the funds that corporations and other non-profits have to help rescues like us, but in order to do so, we will need an experienced grant writer to volunteer with us. If you love dogs like we do, and want to make a significant impact, we would love to talk to you!

Pound Puppy Rescue is nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless puppies and dogs, fostering them, and ultimately place them in loving homes.
Description
Pound Puppy Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 2001. We rescue approximately 400 puppies every year. We are a volunteer organization whose purpose is to keep puppies out of overcrowded shelters where they are at risk for disease and euthanasia. Puppies are fostered in volunteer foster homes where we can keep the puppies healthy, socialized, and in their litter until they are old enough to be placed in permanent, loving homes. All the puppies we rescue come to us looking for love and a "forever" home. Our hope is that all puppies placed through our organization will never experience being homeless or unloved again.
