We are seeking a Curriculum Developer to join our program development volunteer team. This is a meaningful opportunity to craft curriculum that introduces teens to the world of architecture, urban planning, and spatial design in real and future-oriented contexts.
As part of our team, you will design curriculum materials that spark creativity, visual thinking, and appreciation for design and the built environment. Lessons may include fundamentals of architectural drawing, design principles, spatial planning, sustainability, and the cultural significance of architecture. You will also provide training resources and support to educators and program managers, while helping adapt curriculum into digital and interactive formats for broader accessibility.
We welcome applicants with all levels of experience. Candidates with a background in architecture, design, or urban studies, or those experienced in education and community development will be highly regarded.
Curriculum Developer Duties and Responsibilities - Architecture
Define course objectives that foster creative thinking, spatial awareness, and sustainable design.
Develop modular, hands-on lessons covering topics like design concepts, scale, technical drawing, model-making, and site analysis.
Introduce students to architectural tools such as sketching, CAD software, and 3D modeling.
Emphasize the role of architecture in community development, environmental impact, and cultural identity.
Evaluate and revise curriculum for clarity, accessibility, and real-world relevance.
Adapt content into digital formats, including visual aids, virtual tours, and interactive exercises.
Provide training materials and support to educators on architectural instruction and engagement.
Collaborate with practicing architects, designers, and urban planners for insight and validation.
Encourage students to see architecture as a medium for problem-solving and civic contribution.
