ORGANIZATION: EPILEPSY SERVICES FOUNDATION INC

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to become board members for Epilepsy Services Foundation. Board terms are for three years. Our board meets 6 times a year, mostly remotely and at least twice a year in person. Remote meetings take place 7:00 pm in the evening on a weeknight for about an hour. In-person meetings are generally on a Saturday morning.

Board members are responsible for the oversite of the organization, assisting with fundraising, communication with donors, attending events, assisting with strategic planning and supporting our programs and services.

We have a full-time executive director, part-time Program Coordinator and part-time bookkeeper.

Our entire team is passionate about supporting families that have a child with epilepsy and making sure they have as many opportunities as possible to lead fullfilling lives!

Committed to creating a better future and environment for persons affected by epilepsy living in West Central Florida, especially children, teens and young adults with epilepsy and their families.

Description

Epilepsy Services Foundation, Inc. provides programs and services to children, teens and young adults with epilepsy and their familes in west central Florida.

We hold events to raise awareness about epilepsy like our Walks for Epilepsy in Hillsborough and Pasco Counties each spring and love to have volunteers come out for this events.

We provide seizure education and first aid training for to families, community groups, schools, churches and businesses.

We have a virtual Parent Support Group and a Young Adult Support Group that meets roughly once a month for community or planned service projects.

Throughout the year we plan outings for our families to get together for fun activities in a space where they are with other families that are walking the same path.
