Help protect Monarchs & native plants at the HB Nature Trail! All ages welcome for weeding, planting, and fun. Make a difference!
Join us at the Huntington Beach Monarch Nature Trail to help save our precious Monarch butterflies and their vital habitat! We'll be doing a variety of tasks crucial for habitat restoration, like weeding out invasive plants, planting native species that provide food and shelter for the butterflies, and collecting seeds for future growth. It's a fantastic way to learn about Orange County's unique butterfly population and the native plants they rely on.
All ages are welcome, and there will be "hands-on" nature activities specifically for youth. Expect to get a little dirty, have fun outdoors, and make a real difference in your local ecosystem. Please wear closed-toed shoes, a hat, and sunscreen, and bring plenty of drinking water. No restrooms are available on site. No registration is required - just show up ready to contribute!
Enter at the Rancho Rd. entrance (near Spa Drive, where you can park), and look for our table.
The entrance is between Byrum Healthcare 5302 Rancho Road and Spa Drive through an opening in the chain-link fence on Rancho Rd.

Location:
Rancho Rd., Huntington Beach, CA 92647, US
Mission Statement
The Huntington Beach Monarch Nature Trail is dedicated to preserving and restoring vital pollinator habitat, particularly for the monarch butterfly, while inspiring environmental stewardship through accessible educational experiences and community engagement with local native flora and fauna.
Description
The Monarch Nature Trail is the former Navy railroad right-of-way in Huntington Beach and Westminster. The cities are looking for funds to create a future trail. Currently the "trail" is used by many people that live and work in the area for walking, running and biking. The MNT project is planting native California plants to enhance the area, educate people about native plants, and attract monarch butterflies.
