ORGANIZATION: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - Wisconsin Chapter

Join the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) as a volunteer at the Milwaukee Juneteenth Festival and help bring awareness, education, and hope to our community. As a tabling volunteer, you’ll represent AFSP by engaging with festival attendees, distributing materials, and sharing mental health and suicide prevention resources.

This is a meaningful opportunity to support Black communities, promote culturally responsive resources, and encourage open conversations about mental health.

Responsibilities:

  • Help set up and staff the AFSP resource table

  • Greet attendees and share information about AFSP’s mission, programs, and events

  • Distribute printed materials on suicide prevention and mental wellness

  • Create a welcoming, respectful space for those seeking information or connection

  • Represent AFSP’s commitment to equity and inclusion in mental health advocacy

Requirements:

  • Comfortable engaging with the public in a busy festival setting

  • Passionate about AFSP’s mission and the importance of mental health awareness

  • Attend a short orientation or review our tabling guide in advance

  • Friendly, reliable, and respectful of the cultural significance of Juneteenth
