Volunteer Role: Director of Education & Training

Location: Remote
Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week

The Cyber Institute is a nonprofit advancing cybersecurity and emerging technology policy through research, education, and community engagement. We provide accessible, high-quality educational programs to inform and empower individuals and institutions around the world.
Role Overview:
The Director of Education & Training leads the design, development, and delivery of all educational offerings, including online courses, webinars, workshops, and training materials. This role oversees the instructional design process, manages a team of volunteer educators, and ensures that all content is accurate, engaging, and accessible. The Director plays a key role in expanding our educational reach and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of the organization’s education strategy
Oversee the creation of online courses, webinars, and other training content
Ensure content quality, consistency, and alignment with the Cyber Institute’s mission
Supervise and support a team of instructional designers, course developers, and facilitators
Coordinate with subject matter experts and external contributors
Manage learning platforms (e.g., Thinkific, Teachable) and related tools
Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements based on feedback and data
Qualifications:
Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or educational program management
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
Familiarity with learning management systems and digital education tools
Excellent written communication and content review skills
Passion for accessible, mission-driven education in cybersecurity or technology
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting
