Location: Remote
Time Commitment: 6-8 hours per week

The Cyber Institute is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing cybersecurity and emerging technology policy through research, education, and engagement. As we grow, our internal operations must remain effective, efficient, and aligned with our mission.

Role Overview:
The Director of Operations plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the smooth functioning of all internal operations across departments. This position oversees volunteer systems, onboarding processes, workflows, and project timelines. The Director of Operations works closely with leadership and team leads to provide administrative oversight, improve internal communication, and coordinate cross-functional efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee internal workflows, project timelines, and interdepartmental coordination

  • Manage volunteer systems including onboarding, role tracking, and timekeeping

  • Maintain internal documentation and organizational resources

  • Identify and implement tools or processes to improve efficiency and team productivity

  • Collaborate with team leads to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables

  • Provide general administrative oversight and problem-solving support across departments

  • Support planning and logistics for internal meetings, briefings, and team updates

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Experience in operations, administration, or nonprofit management (preferred)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable with tools like Google Workspace, Trello/Asana, or Airtable

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate with remote teams

  • Strategic thinker with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
