Role Overview:
The Grant Researcher & Writer plays a key role in securing funding by identifying grant opportunities and crafting compelling proposals. This volunteer will support the development team by researching funders, aligning opportunities with our programs, and drafting high-quality grant applications and supporting materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and institutions

  • Maintain a database of deadlines, requirements, and submission timelines

  • Draft grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents

  • Tailor each proposal to align with funder priorities and organizational goals

  • Collaborate with leadership and program staff to gather data and narratives

  • Track submitted proposals and assist in follow-up or reporting as needed

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills

  • Experience with grant writing or nonprofit fundraising (preferred but not required)

  • Ability to interpret funder guidelines and craft persuasive narratives

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines

  • Interest in cybersecurity, education, or public policy (a plus)

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
