Role Overview:
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Public Relations Coordinator to help boost our visibility and credibility through strategic media outreach and storytelling. This volunteer will play a key role in crafting our public image and helping us build relationships with press, partners, and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and public statements

• Maintain and update media contact lists

• Identify media opportunities and pitch stories to relevant outlets

• Support development of talking points and backgrounders for interviews and events

• Monitor media coverage and track PR metrics

• Collaborate with the content and social media teams to align messaging

Qualifications:

• Strong written communication and editing skills

• Familiarity with media relations or public communications

• Interest or background in cybersecurity, tech policy, or related fields (a plus)

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently

• Creative thinking and a keen understanding of what makes a story newsworthy
