Job Description

Location: Robin’s Nest/Remote

Reports to: President, Kimber Williams

Position Type: Part-Time (3-4 hours per week)

Salary/Compensation: Volunteer

Robin’s Nest Rescue is a nonprofit animal sanctuary and retreat that rescues animals from kill pens, refuges, and hoarding situations. Position Overview:

A social media coordinator will manage Robin’s Nest Rescue’s social media presence. They will create content, respond to comments, and analyze performance metrics. They also work to increase brand awareness and build relationships with our followers and the general public.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Uphold Robin’s Nest Rescue (RNR) policies and procedures
    • Represent RNR in a professional manner, working to forward the mission
    • Involvement in content management, video production, and development of social media platforms
    • Involved in technical processing of e-newsletter communications
    • Proofread/edit content, including but not limited to social media posts, short form videos, long form videos, success stories, blog articles, press releases and website verbiage
    • Assist with social campaigns and contests, to include organizing user generated content, prizes and contacting winners
    • Create and execute live-streaming (Facebook/Instagram, etc) video content
    • Assist with photo taking/downloading and video development for public relations/social stories
    • Monitor performance: Track engagement, SEO, and other metrics to measure campaign effectiveness
    • Respond to comments: Address comments and concerns from followers
    • Stay up to date: Keep current with social media trends and technology
    • Build relationships: Connect with influencers and other industry professionals
    • Develop strategy: Research target audiences, create a posting schedule, and write guidelines for content
    • Train new employees/volunteers: Teach best practices for social media
    • Analyze data: Use data to make adjustments to campaigns and marketing strategies
    • Create a monthly calendar of proposed scheduled social media posts/campaigns

Skills:

        • Social Media Expertise: Proficiency in managing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, etc.), using social media scheduling and analytics tools; awareness of current trends
        • Content Creation Skills: Strong ability to create visually appealing and shareable content (photos, graphics, short videos, etc.)
        • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling and concise messages that resonate with a diverse audience
        • Creativity: A creative thinker with an eye for design and storytelling, capable of coming up with innovative ways to engage followers and drive action
        • Passion for Animals: A deep commitment to animal welfare and the mission of RNR
        • Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
        • Preferred: Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite, iMovie) and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) is a plus
