HHP is seeking a Volunteer Recruiter (Business Development Focus).
Department: Business Development
Location: Remote
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours/week (flexible)
Reports to: Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and people-oriented Volunteer Recruiter to support the growth of our Business Development Team at the Human Health Project (HHP). This volunteer will focus on identifying and recruiting skilled professionals who can contribute to areas such as funding, partnerships, market research, and strategic expansion. You will help build a strong foundation of talent that supports HHP’s mission of equitable, peer-driven healthcare access and information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and with the help of the HR team, post role descriptions for volunteer business development positions on platforms like VolunteerMatch etc.
  • Identify and connect with potential candidates who have backgrounds in business development, fundraising, grant writing, marketing, or nonprofit strategy.
  • Manage outreach campaigns (email, social, and LinkedIn-based) to attract qualified talent.
  • Conduct initial screening calls or coordinate interviews with the CBDO or hiring committee.
  • Maintain a database of prospects and support tracking their application status.
  • Help design onboarding pathways and handoff processes to ensure smooth integration.
  • Provide updates and reports on recruitment efforts to the Business Development team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR (nonprofit or corporate).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
  • Familiarity with volunteer platforms and/or professional networks (LinkedIn, Catchafire, etc.)
  • Passion for HHP’s mission and a strong sense of collaboration.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
