Be a Mentor for Middle School Students This Summer!

Volunteer Opportunity:

Are you passionate about helping others? We’re looking for some dedicated volunteers to serve as 1:1 mentors in a virtual summer program for middle school students. These academic and enrichment programs will be led by experienced teachers, but you will provide 1-on-1 guidance to the students in their related learning activities.

About Meemli:

Meemli’s mission is to make great learning experiences accessible to all students, no matter where they live or where they go to school. Meemli believes every child deserves to not only receive an education but enjoy the learning process, and great learning materials along with good teachers and mentors can make that happen. As a 501c3 nonprofit, Meemli is uses technology to offer high quality guidance from trusted sources to students who need them.

What You'll Do:

  • Mentor a middle school student (grades 5-8) one-on-one during the program (you can choose to mentor for more than 1 program)
  • Attend six 45-minute classes alongside your student mentee
  • Build a meaningful connection and share your passion for your subject area

Program Details:

  • Dates: July 14 - July 31, 2025
  • Days: Monday through Thursday (depends on the program)
  • Time: Program dependent (45 minutes daily)
  • Format: Online (via Zoom)
  • Commitment: 6 class sessions for each program (you can choose to mentor for more than 1 program)
  • NOTE: Dates and times are subject to change but will be within the period July 14-31 and hours between 9-5 Pacific

Subject Areas include:

  • Math
  • English
  • Science
  • Computers
  • Arts Club
  • Book Club
  • We have both Mentor and TA positions in some of these subjects!

Who Can Apply:

  • Anyone with an interest and a basic understanding of the subject areas
  • Friendly, dependable, and comfortable working with younger students.
  • No teaching experience needed-just enthusiasm and a willingness to help!
  • High school students (grades 9-12) are encouraged to apply!
