ORGANIZATION: GIRLS AND LITERATURE

Thank you for your interest in contributing writing to our Anthology! We are so excited to get started.
Here are the general requirements for you're short story/stories:
-1-2 pages long (no more than 2 pages)
-Shared as a Google Docs document
-Contains words ONLY from the list we will provide
-Original work (no AI-generated content)
-Fictional
-Submitted by June 30th at the latest, however please try to submit sooner (anything after will not be accepted)

You are welcome to submit as many stories as you like! You may also include an original illustration you create yourself for each story, or we can arrange for someone to create one for you. If your story is longer than one page, please include multiple illustrations to help readers follow along.
If interested I will send you two documents, a list of words to write your story from and a permission form.

You will earn volunteer hours and get your work published if accepted.

Mission Statement

Girls and Literature is a student-led, 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to assist girls around the world who do not have easy access to education. We hope to give girls the opportunity to educate themselves, become leaders, and create their own change in the world.

Description

Girls and Literature (GAL) was founded in the Washington D.C. area and now has both national and international reach. Along with hosting virtual reading events, GAL has donated over 1,000 books across three continents. The organization has worked with students in Uganda, Kenya, Southern India, and Nicaragua as well as Afghan Refugees, among others. And, we are just getting started!
