ORGANIZATION: Fishing For Life

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 24 people are interested

Fishing for Life hosts several fishing events throughout the summer where volunteers bring their boats to the event and take kids fishing for the morning. We come in for a picnic lunch and hand out trophies/prizes. Boats arrive at 6:30 or 7 am and event wraps up around 1:30 pm.

We need helpers for registration, shore fishing, and volunteers with boats who will take another adult and 2-3 kids out fishing. We also welcome small groups that would be interested in coordinating and preparing the food for the picnic. We generally partner with a different organization at each event to bring at-risk youth or kids who don't have many opportunities to fish from a boat.

2017 dates are:

June 16th (Friday) - Lake Minnetonka, event for military families

JUne 16th (Friday) - Powderhorn Catfish Tourney (afternoon/evening)

July 15th (Saturday) - Medicine Lake, Plymouth (morning)

August 4th (Friday) - Lake George, Anoka County (partnership w/ Anoka Co Sheriff)

August 5th (Saturday) - Lake Marion, Lakeville

October 7th (Saturday) - Forest Lake
