KEEN Chicago provides free sports and recreational programs for youth with disabilities. We have a traditional sports program in the gym as well as programming in areas such as bowling, soccer, dance, and yoga. On this program date, we will be offering various sports outdoors in a field day setting. Volunteers are needed on-site to assist with check-in, handing out name tags, and providing assistance and support to our Athletes who may need extra help in order to participate in the activities. Volunteers will be paired 1:1 with Athletes during our sessions.
KEEN serves individuals with such diverse disabilities as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and various developmental and intellectual disabilities. KEEN's mission is to foster the self-esteem, confidence, skills and talents of our athletes through non-competitive activities, allowing young people facing even the most significant challenges to meet their individual goals.
