Organization Overview:

Love My Neighbor Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to e stablishing a viable and respectable means for homeless individuals to receive the necessities of life as they regain their way back into society.

Love My Neighbor Foundation, is not just another foundation giving away food and clothing, but an organization established to allow homeless individuals to keep their pride and dignity as they receive food, clothing, shoes, toiletries, resources and spiritual enlightenment.

Our volunteers are comprised of diverse individuals in the community that realize the plight of the homeless and are mindful of such when giving countless hours to ensure the comfort of the community they are serving.

Position Summary:

The Volunteer Grant Writer will support the fundraising team by researching funding opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals, and assisting in the preparation of grant reports. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, a strong writer, and passionate about nonprofit work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and identify prospective foundations and corporate funding opportunities. No government grants

  • Draft and edit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents

  • Collaborate with staff to gather program data, success stories, and financial information

  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submissions

  • Assist in writing interim and final grant reports for funders

  • Track submitted applications and update internal records

Qualifications:
  • Excellent written communication and editing skills

  • Strong research and organizational abilities

  • Ability to understand and articulate nonprofit impact and program goals

  • Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising or grant writing (preferred but not required)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and email communication

  • Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines independently
