Want to bring Arts Olympiad to your area? We are looking for volunteers around the US to begin bringing our Arts Olympiad program to libraries. If you are a current or retired teacher of arts or social studies age 6-18, please join us in directing sessions of our free school art program in a library near you.
What is Arts Olympiad:
Arts Olympiad is a free school art program aimed at students aged 8-12 to engage in creative and empathic development through creating art inspired by the idea of "artist-athletes" to broaden horizons and promote creative minds and healthy bodies. The program includes information about the Olympics and the opportunity to create a unique artwork to be submitted to the International Child Art Foundation for the chance to exhibit at our upcoming World Children's Festival in summer 2026.
What you'll be doing:
Volunteers will guide students through a brief overview of the Olympics and its history as well as some of the sports that are a part of the Olympic competitions. Then students will be asked to imagine their own favorite sport and create an original piece of visual art inspired by their favorite sport. Volunteers will only assist with inspiring students and teaching the brief history, expertise in art or art history is welcome, but not required.
Requirements:
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to commute to and from a library near you
Ability to conduct a classroom environment with 10-20 students of various ages.
Thank you for your interest, we look forward to working with you!
