Monday, July 28 - Friday, August 1, 2025
Location: 4-H Camp, 4-H Camp Road, Stateline, Nevada 89449
Departure from Las Vegas: Early morning departure (approximately 6:00 a.m.), Monday, July 28
Return to Las Vegas: Friday, August 1. Camp departure around 10:00 a.m., with return to Las Vegas and student release to families that evening.

About the Camp:
"Discover Your Path!" is a unique summer camp designed for American Indian and Alaska Native high school students, ages 14 to 18. Hosted at the scenic 4-H Camp in Stateline, Nevada, this program provides youth with the opportunity to explore different career paths, connect with peers from across the region, and build life skills in a supportive, culturally respectful outdoor environment.

Volunteer Role: Camp Chaperone
We are seeking committed, responsible volunteers to serve as chaperones throughout the duration of the camp. Chaperones play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the student participants and supporting a positive camp experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a group of students during transportation, meals, daily sessions, and free time
  • Ensure that students attend all scheduled activities and participate as expected
  • Support students in maintaining clean and orderly cabins
  • Enforce evening curfew and conduct nightly check-ins
  • Encourage positive behavior, inclusion, and peer support among students
  • Monitor for any issues related to health, safety, or homesickness
  • Participate in nightly chaperone meetings and debrief sessions with camp staff
  • Serve as a role model and create a welcoming, respectful environment

Qualifications:

  • Must be available for the entire camp duration, including travel to and from camp
  • Previous experience working with youth, particularly in educational or camp settings, is preferred
  • Have knowledge of, or a strong sensitivity to, Native American communities, cultures, and youth experiences
  • Ability to foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere for all participants
  • Must pass a background check and complete required training prior to the camp session
