ORGANIZATION: Compassionate Care Hospice (Amedisys) Bedminster NJ

Compassionate Care Hospice in Bedminster is asking for volunteers with certified, licensed and well behave therapy pets to visit our end of life patients. The presence of animlas heals our hearts, beings back memories of all those special companions we have had through out our lives. Simple petting or snuggling of animals brings calm and quiet connection. Sometimes animals understand what we need better than other humans. If this type of volunteering speaks to you we would love to have you. Sometimes the visits are in homes and sometimes you can see a few patients in a facility. We promise that the smiles you collect will fill your cup full of joy.

We just ask that you are over 18, in US and go through our certification training as well as a background check and some health information. To get the process started please click the link in this ad and the Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to you and get the process started. Thank you for considering spending your and your animal companion's time with us to brig connection and care to our patients.

Mission Statement

Amedisys Hospice Care is defined by its mission: To affirm life during its final stages by providing holistic compassionate care to patients and their families; by providing access to hospice care for underserved or difficult to serve populations; by wise and efficient use of available resources, and by educating the community in order to provide them with knowledge regarding end-of-life and hospice care around quality of life.

Description

For patients on hospice care, volunteers play an essential role. Whether they’re simply being present with a patient or helping behind the scenes, volunteers help create trusting bonds and meaningful memories for hospice patients and their loved ones.
