Core volunteers are the foundation of support that StandUp for Kids relies upon to offer support to homeless youth in Kitsap County. Volunteers may choose from a number of roles to support our mission. Those roles include:

• Food Bag Assembly : P eriodically work with others to prepare weekend food bags, which are dis t ributed to homeless and a t risk youth through the school system s .

• Inventory Support : P eriodically organize items which are packed into weekend food bags . May include assisting with picking up donated or p urchased items from local outlets.

• Delivery Drive r : Our primary distribution method is to supply schools with food and hygiene packs. The school partners then distribute them to the students. Delivery is g enerally one day on either Wednesday, T hursday or Friday. P ersonal vehicle is necessary to deliver p acks .

• Food Drive Support - Help in two hour shifts at food drives, which provide a significant contribution to our weekend food bag distribution.

• Community Outreach Booth Worker - Help in t wo hour shifts at events like Pride, Whaling Days, etc . Represent S tandUp for Kids, sharing information about how we can help homeless youth, and how people can volunteer or donate to support our efforts.

• Fundraising Auction Support : Assist with our annual auction. Many opportunities to help at our Fall Gala Fundraiser .

  • Coordinate with caterer,
  • Organize auction items,
  • Manage online auction platform,
  • Coordinate entertainment,
  • Design invitati ons and other materials,
  • solicit sponsors.
