Volunteer Lobby Attendant -
Impact Apparel Storefront Shift
- Reports to: Volunteer Leader on duty / DFSA designed staff
- Location: Dress for Success Austin Storefront
- Schedule: Saturdays, 10:30 AM-3:30 PM (additional times as needed)
Role Summary:
The Volunteer Lobby Attendant helps ensure the peace of mind of the DFSA storefront, volunteers, and customers during Saturday shifts. This role is primarily observational - maintaining a visible, calm presence, checking in periodically, and helping close the building securely at the end of the shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be present and accessible at the storefront from 10:30AM-3:30 PM on Saturdays.
- When someone rings the building doorbell, greet with: "Hi! Are you here to shop at Impact Apparel?" If they say yes, go ahead and open the door. If they say no, kindly let them know that the building is only open to Impact Apparel customers. If they say they are a building employee, remind them that they need to use their badge to enter.
- Occasionally check-in with Volunteer Leaders and Support Volunteers to ensure everything is running smoothly.
- Thank customers warmly as they exit the storefront.
- At the end of the shift, complete a walk-through of the storefront and first floor to ensure everyone has exited.
- Remain onsite until Volunteer Leaders and Support Volunteers complete their end-of-shift duties and the building is secured.
- In case of emergency (medical, safety, security), immediately call 911 and then notify DFSA Executive Director Mia Johns
