Approximately 5-10 hours per week (flexible scheduling)

Opportunity Description:
Akshay’s Light is a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to illuminating lives worldwide by providing comprehensive support for mental health, advancing educational opportunities, fostering community development, alleviating poverty, and enhancing healthcare services. We are seeking a passionate Volunteer Coordinator to help build and manage our volunteer program from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies

• Screen, interview, and onboard new volunteers

• Organize training sessions and create orientation materials

• Match volunteers to appropriate roles based on skills and interests

• Maintain volunteer records and track engagement

• Recognize and appreciate volunteer contributions

Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Experience in volunteer management or human resources is a plus

• Proficient in using digital tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, volunteer management software)

• Highly organized and detail-oriented
