ORGANIZATION: Idealist.org

Recruiting Organization: Trans Rescue

As an ops researcher you’ll field requests for authoritative information on weird and wonderful subjects. How does someone whose government won’t give them a passport travel? We hear a rumor that if you agree to work in the far north of Canada you can get a work visa easily. True? How many people seek asylum in Japan each year, and where are they coming from? What advice should we be giving Americans about passport renewal now?

We help people in some of the most unusual situations on earth. With it comes untangling baffling mysteries.

Training: Educational experience in research. Grad school in almost any topic, but international studies would be great.

Time Commitment: Variable, on an as-needed basis

Requirements: Research skills. You know how to read a citation and have ResearchGate and Google scholar on speed dial. You can find out if India has signed the 1951 UN Declaration On The Rights Of Refugees And Migrants in under 5 minutes. and know how that affects Indo-Pakistan relations in 30.

Fun: Turn your PhD in medieval history to helping save lives.
