About APOLLO SUPPORT & RESCUE INC

Location:

1170 DOVE HILL RD, JUSTIN, TX 76247, US

Mission Statement

Apollo Support & Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization that rescues animals in need from abandonment, abuse, or left in local shelters. We promote spay/neuter programs and educate the public on the benefits of saving a life through adoption instead of promoting buying a pet. We hold local adoption events to display healthy rescue animals that are ready to find forever homes. We place animals in suitable, safe homes. We also provide assistance to pet owners unable to keep their pets due to financial hardships, we provide food, pet deposits, and temporary care. We try to help assist with pets that are surrendered and prevent them from being taken to local shelters.

Description

Apollo was founded in 2012 by Army Veteran, Danielle Stewart. What started as a goal to save one dog has turned into years of saving thousands of dogs and now cats as well. From a home based rescue to a 5-acre facility in Justin, TX, Apollo continues to grow and expand at a record rate. In addition to rescuing animals we also have a street team that feeds and vaccinates dogs in the homeless camps, we provide food donations to a local church for their food bank, and provide assistance to help people keep their pets. We try to spread awareness and educate the community on the importance of spay and neutering pets to control the population and help reduce the euthanasia rate in Texas. In 2019 Apollo partnered with Project Freedom Ride and now we transport dogs to the NE and PNW states by direct adopt or transfer to other rescues. Due to her hard work Danielle was recognized by the Petco Foundation as one of their Unsung Heros in 2019.
As the rescue grows are goals stay the same but our need for help is dire. We are looking for volunteers to help with training, technology platforms, promoting, and more.
