About the Role:

We believe stories change lives. As Chief Storyteller, you'll lead how Cloud Veterans communicates our mission through the powerful journeys of those we serve. You’ll capture and craft the voices of veterans breaking into tech, transforming them into compelling narratives across video, social, and written formats.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead storytelling strategy for the organization’s brand and mission.

  • Identify and interview graduates, staff, partners, and corporate sponsors to capture authentic stories.

  • Script, edit, and direct short-form videos, reels, and impact pieces.

  • Collaborate with our marketing team to align content with fundraising and partnership goals.

  • Oversee publishing across channels and track story engagement.

  • Ensure every piece of content reinforces our mission, voice, and values.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Exceptional storyteller with a background in journalism, media, or marketing.

  • Strong creative and strategic thinking - can see the big picture and craft the right narrative.

  • Experience in video production, scriptwriting, or social content creation.

  • Deep empathy and respect for the veteran experience.

  • Strong communicator, collaborator, and mission-driven leader.

Mission Statement

Every year, more than 200,000 veterans leave the military and face difficulties finding employment. That's where Cloud Veterans comes in. We are dedicated to transforming the lives of veterans by providing comprehensive, free cloud computing training, exam prep and certification, resume and LinkedIn profile help, and job placement services. Our mission is to bridge the gap between military service and civilian employment, ensuring veterans are valued, supported, and empowered to lead in the ever-evolving world of cloud technology.

Description

We work with the Veteran population to provide funding for online learning, in-person classes, on-the-job training with pay, and a mentoring relationship to help them integrate back into the civilian world more easily. When they graduate from our program, they have practical references and the certifications they need to get a leg up within the cloud technology space.​

​ Our founder and CEO, Gregory Scott Henson, is uniquely positioned to help graduating veterans land a job in the industry. With contacts in the industry and experience as the former CEO of Henson Group, one of Microsoft's largest partners, he has the knowledge and connections to help veterans succeed.
